ELASTIN PEPTIDES
Elastin is the main component of elastic fibres. Elastic fibres are found mainly in ligaments and in the walls of veins. Together with collagen fibres, elastin gives the tissue its elasticity and tensile strength.
Although elastin accounts for only 2% of the total dermal protein, it plays an important role in skin elasticity.
Elastin is the main cause of sagging, drooping and fine wrinkles in aging skin. As the skin ages naturally, elastin fibres break down more and more significantly, and by the age of 70, most elastin fibres are affected.
